Senior Administrative Officer

Job Introduction

Langrish is a popular, one form entry primary school on the edge of the South Downs. Due to the retirement of our long-standing Business Manager, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with excellent organisation, initiative and administrative skills. This is a full-time post, which will include working closely with the Headteacher, other staff, parents and pupils to ensure the smooth running of the school. 

The successful candidate will have a financial background and knowledge of financial management systems, although relevant training on Hampshire systems will be provided. The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is essential. Knowledge and experience of Arbor or another management information system would be preferred but is not essential. We offer a friendly, nurturing environment and excellent professional development opportunities.


The post will involve (please also refer to the job description).

  • Advising the Headteacher in preparing, managing and monitoring the annually allocated budget, including achieving value for money when assisting with procurement
  • Planning, developing and organising our administration systems, procedures and policies to facilitate the smooth operation of the school
  • Analysing and evaluating data and information to produce relevant reports including HR and finance
  • Undertaking the administration of human resource matters, including contracts of employment and relevant safeguarding checks

GCSE qualifications in English or Maths at grade C or above are essential and applicants should have additional, relevant qualifications beyond this.
