We are looking to appoint a part-time, Senior Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly, professional team. The successful candidate will be a confident, caring and friendly individual who can lead our team of lunchtime supervisors to ensure our children have a happy and safe lunchtime every day at school.


The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee the care, safety, welfare and supervision of children during the lunch break, in the playground, dining hall and other areas, ensuring the whole lunchtime experience is as positive as possible for the children.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with adults and children and be able to manage a small team using clear, firm and fair communication.
  • Be a team player who can help make the lunchtime experience fun and enjoyable for all children. 
  • Have good communication and organisational skills.
  • Be able to work with others and to show own initiative.
  • Interact positively and establish good relationships with all children and colleagues. 
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
  • Be reliable and punctual.

 

Duties include:

  • Managing the team of Lunchtime Supervisors and ensuring daily cover for pupil lunchtime periods.
  • Organising rotas.
  • Ensure the lunchtime supervisory team is effective by allocating duties to Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants and monitoring their performance in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • To promote and support a whole school approach to inclusive play that embraces the values and behaviour systems at St James’ School.
  • To ensure that lunchtime provision is orderly and calm in the playground and in the dining hall.
  • Supporting the Lunchtime team with resolving issues and ensuring excellent safeguarding practice at all times.
