We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and reliable individual with a broad range of practical maintenance and caretaking skills. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who enjoys working in a busy school environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is committed to creating a safe, clean and welcoming setting for children, staff and visitors.
Key strengths and experience should include:
- General building maintenance and repairs
- Grounds maintenance and outdoor site development
- Overseeing contract cleaners and ensuring standards are met, referring to business manager if necessary
- Cleaning, decorating and porterage duties
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements, including fire safety, COSHH and risk assessments
- Ability to act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs when required
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Positive working relationships with children, staff, contractors and the wider community
- Flexible, proactive approach and willingness to support the needs of the school
The role is a 10-hour-per-week job share position, working year-round, with ongoing training and development. The successful candidate will help maintain and further develop a well-kept school site while contributing to the school's vision and caring ethos.
