Job Introduction
Old Basing Infant School is a three-form entry infant school located in the village of Old Basing near Basingstoke.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and practical Site Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, well maintained and welcoming. You will need to be self-motivated, able to prioritise your workload and take pride in the whole school site.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Being responsible for site security as Principle Keyholder, including daily opening and closing of the school, and attending emergency call outs as necessary
- Managing and undertaking routine building maintenance and improvements, including minor repairs and decorating
- Managing contractors on site, including cleaning staff and ensuring standards of work are of an acceptable standard
- Regular checking and record keeping to meet legislative Health and Safety requirements e.g. legionella, COSHH etc.
- Regular checking and record keeping of the fire alarm system
- Manning the school car park drop off system every morning
- Monitoring stock and ordering supplies
Skills Required:
- Practical skills including basic DIY and plumbing
- Be a strong communicator
- Commitment to undertake training where required
- IT skills for record keeping and training
Full training will be provided for the right candidate. The role is for 20 hours per week, working on a split shift. This is a 52 week contract with 24 days holiday initially, which will need to be taken in the school holidays.
Salary Grade is D – initial starting salary £15,511
