37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (there is an expectation to work through the summer holidays)

Salary:             Grade E £30,859 - £33,951   Depending on experience 

(Hourly rate: £13.28 to £14.68)

Forest Park School, is a Hampshire local authority maintained special school.  We provide education for children and young people aged 2-19 years with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties, many of whom have autism.  The split-site school (Primary and Secondary) is situated in Totton.

We are seeking to appoint a positive, versatile and enthusiastic Site Manager for our happy and successful school, or as soon as possible.

Our Site Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the proper management and maintenance of the school's building facilities to the highest standards. This includes creating a clean, tidy, safe and compliant working environment for pupils, visitors, and staff.  An excellent knowledge of health and safety, security, repair and maintenance, compliance and record keeping are all essential for this role.

The Site Manager acts as the main key holder and has responsibility for the security and maintenance of our school.  You will carry out a full range of duties to ensure that the school’s buildings, furnishings, grounds and minibuses are maintained to the highest standards.  You will have responsibility for all health and safety matters, lead maintenance projects, manage external contractors, lettings and ensure the smooth operation of the school premises at all times including for evening and weekend lettings and through the school holidays.  

You will need to be able to use your own initiative, manage your own time well, whilst at the same time enjoy working as part of a team.   You will be fully competent with general DIY skills and have strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills.  You will also be able to plan, organise, execute and inspect all relevant works relating to the general school site, including health and safety, and compliance. 

You will have responsibility for the line management of the school’s cleaning teams, assistant site manager and will need to communicate and work effectively with the entire staff team at Forest Park. 

This is a full-time role 37 Hours, 52 weeks per year with annual leave entitlement to be taken during both term time and some of the school holidays (not the summer holidays).
