Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities? Park Gate Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed SENDCO to join our friendly, supportive team.

As SENDCO, you will play a vital role in leading the provision for our pupils with SEND, ensuring they have every opportunity to achieve their potential. You’ll work closely with staff, families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for our children. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant primary school with over 400 pupils in a welcoming community setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
  • Supporting staff to deliver high-quality teaching and interventions
  • Working directly with pupils, families and external professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the SEND Code of Practice

We’d love to hear from you if you:

Qualifications and training

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEND Coordination (or willingness to work towards this qualification)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND

Experience

  • Successful teaching experience within a primary setting
  • Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND
  • Experience of working collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies

Skills and knowledge

  • Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
  • Ability to identify and implement effective strategies to support SEND pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse data and use it to improve pupil outcomes
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to lead and deliver staff training
