The community of Locks Heath Infant School is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and committed staff. This rare opportunity cannot be missed and is the perfect job for someone who is looking to make a real difference to our children’s lives. The role will involve supporting children across the school including: supporting children to access learning in the environment and working with children with neuro-diverse needs. It will be important for the successful candidate to be flexible and adaptable in undertaking this role.

The post would be suitable for someone who shows ‘Never Giving Up’ and is aspirational towards continually raising standards for all children.

Hours are Monday to Friday 11.30 - 15.15
The successful candidate will;
- Have empathy with pupils and be sympathetic to their needs
- Have relevant and recent experience in a EY / KS1 learning support environments (desirable)
- Have basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Be a good communicator
- Be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
- Be professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality
- Have well-developed interpersonal skills and sense of humour enabling effective relationships with a variety of different people
- Be a team player, being able to pull upon examples of where their successful teamwork impacted positively upon a child’s or children’s development
- Have a clear understanding of safeguarding in a school setting
- Have a willingness to learn about and how best to support children’s neuro-divergent needs
