We are looking for two enthusiastic and caring teaching assistants to join our established team to work with two children in Year 3 with social and communication needs and 1 child in Year 1 with social, emotional and communication needs. The successful post holders will work within the classroom, offering a varied programme of support. Previous experience of working with Special Needs (Autism/PDA/ADHD) is desirable however training can be made available if required. This is a fixed term contract (with the potential to run until August 2028/2030). Each role could be covered through one person for the 32.5 hours or through a job share. The successful candidates will:
- Work with the children within the classroom environment and, when appropriate, groups of children to support their learning and development
- Be committed to enabling children to make progress
- Be patient, calm and caring
- Be flexible, proactive and resourceful
- Understand the importance of play in a child’s learning and development
- Work as part of a team
- Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
- Prepare and organise resources
- Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies.
- Be willing to undertake training to gain further skills
- Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
