Job description:

Cantell School is proud to be a heavily oversubscribed, inclusive comprehensive school with a student intake that reflects a wonderfully diverse and vibrant local community. Our fundamental mission is to provide an exceptional learning experience for every student so that they may lead a happy and successful life now and in the future.

In March 2024, we were judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. Whilst we are honoured to receive such an accolade, we must be clear that this does not define us. What makes us stand out in the crowd is the strength of relationships between our diverse student and staff body. It is one of the reasons why Cantell is a great place for students to learn and staff to work!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Student Services Administrative Officer to join our busy and highly collaborative Student Services and Admin Team on 6th January 2025.

The successful applicant must be able to work under pressure, multi-task and be prepared to go the extra mile.

You will be interacting with staff, parents and students and therefore must possess the ability to remain calm and prioritise in busy situations. Duties will include maintaining student records, general administration and supporting attendance in school among other duties.

Previous office experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. First Aid trained and SIMS experience would be desirable, however training will be provided. The salary offered is between £31,067-£35,234 (FTE) to be pro rata to 40 weeks per year and term time only, 37 hrs per week. (£27,362 and £31,033)

We will offer the successful applicant:

A committed and extremely supportive staff team

The opportunity to make a real difference to our students

A thriving community of students and parents / carers

We wish to appoint candidates with:

Excellent interpersonal, communication and motivational skills

A passion for improving students' lives and opportunities

High levels of ambition and drive for outstanding performance from staff and students

The school is committed to safeguarding children and all applicants are subject to an enhanced DBS check. Although applications will be processed as they arrive, an earlier closing date may be made before this if a successful candidate is found.

Safer Recruitment

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
