Subject Leader Maths

Job Introduction

What makes Noadswood a terrific community to be part of?  Is it:

  • Quality specialist teachers across a rich and varied curriculum, and a super record in academic outcomes, Dance, Performing Arts, Poetry and Sport?
  • Our House system, giving young people membership of a smaller community within the school?
  • Our drive for the best possible progress for all through research based teaching and learning?
  • The way we listen to our students' and colleagues’ ideas for their wellbeing and their community, and bring them all to life?
  • The care we have for our colleague, student and parent communities, and their suggestions, views and concerns?

It's because of ALL of the above but overarching all of this, it's because we are a warm, welcoming school. We are passionate about educational excellence and to sustaining an honest, kind, inclusive community - we are strongly united on our very best days, at challenging times and at all points in between.

Required from September 2025

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and innovative leader and teacher of Mathematics to join our highly successful team whose shared purpose is to inspire and challenge the young people at Noadswood. The team is hugely collaborative and supportive of one another, having been led expertly both in terms of excellent practice and mutual support over many successful years; it is commonplace to share resources and strategies freely, and you would be welcomed warmly at department level and into the whole Noadswood family.

The study of Maths is at the heart of the curriculum and we are looking to appoint a candidate who has the ability to ensure learners of all abilities make progress, achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation of the subject.

As subject leader, we will look to you to create the belief in all of our young people that they can be successful in mathematics and that they will all enjoy being so.

Ensuring the high-quality teaching is taking place in all classrooms where teachers are making the best use of resources will be the daily focus of the subject leader. Improving the standards of learning and therefore achievement will remain the common goal of the Maths team.

You would become part of wider school life effortlessly, because of our richly experienced team of subject leaders that you would join and because of how authentically welcoming and supportive we are, something commented on by all candidates and visitors alike. We believe in steadiness, mutual support and openness, helping us navigate the exciting times and the challenging times in this profession together. You will benefit from our commitment to your induction and a rich professional development programme that will offer you bespoke opportunities along with department, whole school and collaborative CPD with schools across our local area.

Confirmed a Good school in its Ofsted inspection in October 2022, at Noadswood. We are excited to have you join us to lead this very special department to continue to go from strength to strength, adding your expertise, enthusiasm and care for young people to the mix.

If you have that experience, energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to young people and their progress, we are positive you will fit in to our school. You can contact us by email: recruitment@noadswood.hants.sch.uk to discuss this post or do go ahead and apply – we can’t wait to meet you.
