Teacher of Computing – MPR/UPR
September 2026 (July start for ECTs)
We are seeking an outstanding Teacher of Computing to join our thriving school and contribute to high‑quality teaching, strong learner engagement, and excellent progress across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative educator with a strong subject knowledge who can inspire students and contribute to a forward‑thinking Computing curriculum.
Alderwood Senior School is a rapidly improving, high‑performing school, achieving GCSE outcomes above the national average. Behaviour across the school is very good, with Ofsted describing it as “very settled and calm.”
Main Purpose
- To deliver high‑quality teaching and learning in Computing across KS3 and KS4
- To teach the Cambridge National ICT qualification and/or Computing GCSE
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment and progress within the subject area
- To promote positive attitudes to learning and actively support the school’s ethos and values
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and the needs of all students
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school procedures
- Maintain a well‑ordered, safe, and stimulating learning environment
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all learners, including those with SEND
- Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and whole‑school events
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required
- Uphold and promote school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour expectations
