Permanent teaching vacancy at Poulner Junior School

We are looking for an excellent, enthusiastic, highly experienced and motivated teacher to join Poulner Junior School in January 2026. We would also welcome applications from newly qualified teachers, undertaking their early careers teaching

Poulner Junior’s is a good school where learning is exciting and dynamic for the children and the staff.  The focus is very much on ensuring that high quality teaching and learning takes place in all subject areas and that developing the whole child is at the heart of our work.  You would be joining an excellent staff team who enjoy working together within a positive learning culture to provide fantastic opportunities for our children. 
 
We have established a successful coaching system that supports individual teachers to develop their practice and provide opportunities for our staff to work alongside staff from our own and other schools. Our positive learning culture and teamwork are strengths of the school, and we believe these can be seen through the ethos and atmosphere that is evident in school.

The school has a committed and experienced leadership team, this has created a very positive and determined team who work together to develop innovative approaches to learning.

The successful candidate will:

1. Have the experience and passion to lead a core subject
2. Be a consistently good or better teacher or have the potential to develop into one
3. Have the skills to make rigorous learning exciting and memorable
4. Have high expectations of learning a behaviour
5. Have the ability to create an inspiring and purposeful classroom
6. Have a good understanding of Assessment for Learning
7. Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to work alongside others to  develop their own and colleagues understanding of teaching and learning
