Teaching Assistant Vacancy – Temporary Appointment

Bishop's Waltham Junior School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resourceful, and conscientious Teaching Assistant who will join our dedicated school team and make a real impact in the classroom. This is a temporary position until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension depending on school circumstances.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the class teacher, supporting groups and individuals across the class/year group, assisting with assessment, and reviewing pupil progress. In addition, they will work closely with our SENDCo and class teachers to help prepare and deliver intervention programmes.


29.17 hours per week (5 mornings/5 afternoons/ 3 lunch duties)

We are looking for someone who has:

✅ A kind, caring, and supportive nature
✅ A genuine passion and desire to work in schools
✅ Competent levels of English and maths
✅ Previous experience of working with pupils with SEN (desirable but not essential)
✅ Good time management and organisational skills
✅ Strong interpersonal skills and a positive mindset
✅ Effective communication skills, including liaising closely with parents
