If so, we want you to join us. We are looking to recruit an exceptional Teaching Assistant to support a child with an EHCP. Initially you will work in Year 6 until the child leaves the school, with the intention of then moving to work in a Year 3 class in the same role from September. The successful candidate will need to be able to work within the classroom, liaising with the class teacher and the Assistant Headteacher. We would welcome applications from those who have experience of working with children but also those who wish to pursue a new career in this area, or who are seeking to gain further experience of primary education.
We believe the key attributes for this role are:

 GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.

 High expectations of children's progress, attainment and behaviour.

 An ability to support pupils with barriers to their learning.

 The ability to motivate, challenge and engage children

 The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems.

 The ability to work as a positive team member.

 Patience, empathy and good communication skills.

 Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.

 An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.

 Confidence in using IT.

The position is initially for 20 hours per week. The role is conditional on the named child remaining in the school and the ongoing review of children’s support as part of the standard SEN Annual Review process. You are welcome to discuss the role and ask any questions by contacting Robin Hayes (Assistant Headteacher) via e-mail at senco@fjslive.net. You can also tour the school – we would love to meet you. Please leave a contact number for him to call you on. Deadline: Monday 24th February @ 9am.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role and successfully appoint. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
