We are seeking to appoint a technician into our Technology faculty. Technology is taught at KS3 and is a popular option at GCSE too with design, materials, electronics, textiles and food taught across the age range. The successful candidate will be required to assist teachers in order to provide students with the best possible Technology lessons.
As the technician, you will support relevant members of department, with preparation for their lessons as well as supporting students when required.
Main accountabilities will include:
• Setting up classroom equipment and preparing materials for lessons. This will include the use of the 3D printer and laser cutter.
• Assistance in lessons including demonstrating equipment and techniques.
• Ordering and stock control.
• Maintenance and care of stock and equipment.
Additional specific responsibilities:
• Administrative tasks to support the Technology faculty.
• Assistance with wall displays and photocopying where required.
• Ensuring Health and safety is adhered to especially with regards to heavy lifting, along with the maintenance, repair and use of machinery.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience of working in a school or workshop.
• A passion for technology.
• A willing nature and flexible approach.
• A sense of humor.
• Good communication skills.
