Temporary Class Teacher

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join our successful Junior School team for the summer term and possibly longer. We are a large school with four classes per year group, providing an ideal context to support professional development at any stage of a teacher’s career. Our vacancy has arisen as a result of the relocation of a military family and we are excited to be able to recruit a new member of our team to join Year 5 after Easter.

As a school, we are extremely proud of our successes in setting high expectations and developing the whole child through our strong Christian ethos. Our dedicated staff work together as a strong team enabling both children and staff to flourish.

At Horndean Church of England Junior School we strive to provide each and every one of the five hundred children in our care with a first-class education. We are an inclusive school and we prioritise adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of all our learners.

In April 2022 we secured a very positive outcome from our short Ofsted inspection, not least the judgement that our Christian Values of TLC ‘help to make the school a very special place.’ This echoed the outcome of our church school inspection in November 2019 that our Christian vision ‘successfully drives the school’s development and has an exceptional impact on the lives of pupils and adults.’

Visits before, during or after school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. These can be arranged by phone or via email at a time to suit you.
