Key Stage 1 Maternity Cover Teacher

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our team at Owslebury Primary School. This position is to cover a maternity leave for our Year 1/2 teacher, teaching a combined class of 20 wonderful children across Years 1 and 2. The successful candidate will work closely with a skilled HLTA and an LSA to provide outstanding support and guidance to the children.

We would love the successful candidate to begin on 24th February 2025, with an anticipated duration of 12 months in the first instance. However, we welcome applications from candidates who may not be available until April 2025. We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about designing engaging learning experiences and dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our pupils. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and highly motivated teacher who:

  • Has experience of teaching in Key Stage 1
  • Has a strength in English and could lead English across the school, although there is flexibility in this. 
  • Is a high quality practitioner who strives for excellence 
  • Will embrace our school values: Nurture, Collaboration, Resilience, Respect and Aspiration; and can demonstrate these fully within their role in school
  • Is passionate about children’s learning and ensuring they make good progress
  • Thinks creatively and inspires children and colleagues
  • Can deliver an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum, bringing learning to life and promoting first-hand, real-life experiences
  • Reflects on their own practice and values professional development opportunities
  • Develops good relationships and works well as part of a team
  • Is prepared to contribute to the wider working of the school beyond their own classroom
