This role is ideal for… an experienced Y6 teacher seeking a role in a school on an exciting improvement journey

Join Our Growing Team as a KS2 Teacher

We are looking for an experienced and driven Y6 teacher to join us at a pivotal moment as we continue to raise standards and enrich the learning experience for every child. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to make a real impact in a supportive environment where innovation, collaboration, and professional growth will be genuinely valued and nurtured.

As part of our team, you will play a key role in modelling and embedding our values every day—helping children to be ready to learn, respectful of themselves and others, and safe in their environment and choices.

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • A school that is on the up where you will be well supported in your role by the current strong Y6 class teacher for a month and an experienced Senior Leadership Team
  • An opportunity to make a real difference to our children’s lives and their learning
  • A strong culture of professional development, with access to high‑quality CPD, coaching, and clear pathways for career progression.
  • Consistent school systems that ensure that every child succeeds.
  • Extensive and beautiful grounds which provide stimulating outdoor learning environments including a reading area, play trail, pond and woodland
  • The chance to be part of a transformational school journey as an instrumental member of the team

We are looking for:

  • A KS2 teacher with experience of teaching in upper KS2
  • A strong track record of excellent classroom practice
  • High expectations for pupil achievement pastorally and academically
  • A positive, solution-focused mindset
  • Strong, positive behaviour management
  • Experience in monitoring and tracking pupil progress using data to inform teaching and learning
  • Able to support whole-school improvement and make a positive impact on improving end of year outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school development
  • A well-organised practitioner, with the ability to prioritise and manage their workload efficiently

This is a wonderful opportunity so if you are inspirational, reflective, and committed to helping children achieve their very best within a Ready, Respectful, Safe values driven school community, we would be delighted to hear from you. We encourage you to visit our school. Your visit can be arranged by contacting the school office on 02380 618905 or adminoffice@shakespeare-jun.hants.sch.uk. We look forward to meeting you.

Applications from experienced teachers are welcome, not suitable for ECT.
