Job Introduction
Due to the promotion of the current postholder to an early years advisory role, we have an opportunity for a passionate and ambitious Year R teacher to join our team here at Wickham Church of England Primary School, until the end of the academic year. Although the role is fixed term, there is a possibility that it may become permanent beyond this.
The successful candidate will join a highly committed and passionate early years team and work closely alongside our amazing Year R teacher in the parallel class. There are 22 children in the class and they are an absolute delight to teach! The early years setting is incredibly well-resourced both indoors and out.
We are very proud of our school community, which truly feels like one ‘big family’, and our pupils are well-behaved and eager to learn. Our shared school values of love, respect and courage underpin all areas of school life and our highly committed and enthusiastic staff work hard to ensure that all children achieve well and make good progress. These were amongst many strengths of the school identified in our Ofsted inspection (February 2022).
The school is located in the heart of the historic village of Wickham, only a few minutes’ drive from the town of Fareham and easily accessible from the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. Our grounds are extensive and are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Meon Valley.
