Job/Person Summary
Bartley C of E Junior School is a friendly and inclusive school on the edge of the New Forest near Southampton. We currently have a vacancy for a professional and positive individual to join to our existing administration team.
The role is to support the School Business Manager and Admin Team with a range of administration duties and to be responsible for the welfare and medical provision for our pupils. This is an exciting and varied role working within a supportive, hardworking and proactive team and we are seeking an individual who is able to multitask in a fast-paced office and reception environment, whilst supporting the welfare needs of our pupils. The successful candidate will also be required to carry out lunch time duties. This role requires exceptional organisation and interpersonal skills, as well as a genuine passion for working with children.
The successful applicant will:
- have a strong administration background preferably within a school or medical environment
- be able to work well under pressure and multi-task
- demonstrate strong IT skills particularly using Microsoft office applications experience using school applications such as Arbor are desired but not essential
- qualified in Maths and English at GCSE Grade C/4 or above
- demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and effective communication skills
- work well as part of a team
- have a positive, can-do attitude to working and be flexible
- have an understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and confidentially
- have a passion for children’s health and wellbeing
Main duties include but not limited to:
- be the first point of contact dealing with telephone calls and visitors
- be able to communicate in a professional and positive manner at all times
- care for sick and injured pupils and deliver first aid
- be aware of pupils emotional and social needs
- be responsible for keeping accurate and up to date medical records
- be responsible for replenishing stock items and ordering first aid supplies and other school supplies
- record attendance data and produce attendance data reports
- work as part of a team to help carry out lunch time duties
- there may be the requirement for overtime
