Bring your organisational skills and initiative to a role that matters

We are seeking a friendly, confident and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This varied and rewarding role combines reception duties, administrative support for Health & Safety processes, and co-ordination of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) administration.

The role is advertised at Grade C; however, we recognise the value of specialist EHCP expertise. Candidates with proven EHCP Co-ordinator experience and a strong understanding of SEND statutory requirements may be considered for appointment at a higher grade, subject to experience and qualifications.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for staff, parents and visitors – providing a welcoming and professional front-facing presence.
  • Supporting day-to-day administration, including data input, filing, printing, minute-taking, and diary support.
  • Working closely with the Office Manager, the postholder will support the development and implementation of a robust and effective EHCP administration process that meets all statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records, logs and databases to support efficient school operations.
  • Managing and responding to internal and external communications in a clear, timely and solution-focused way.
  • Handling pupil information with sensitivity and in line with data protection standards.
  • Providing admin support to teams across the school – from pastoral to site, SEND to teaching staff – depending on the day’s needs.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong admin skills, with good attention to detail and excellent organisation.
  • Can work efficiently in a fast-paced, reactive environment with multiple priorities.
  • Is solution-focused, able to stay calm and think clearly when unexpected tasks arise.
  • Works proactively and takes ownership of their tasks, using initiative appropriately.
  • Communicates professionally and warmly with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Has experience working in administration (school experience is helpful, but not essential).
  • Has proficient skills in Microsoft 365 and is open to learning new systems – we use Microsoft 365, Arbor, CPOMS, Earwig, and Medical Tracker.

Why Henry Tyndale?

  • Be part of a growing school community that values every role equally.
  • Access ongoing training and CPD, with opportunities to gain new qualifications and take on greater responsibility.
  • Work in a collaborative, people-focused environment where initiative and ideas are welcomed.
  • Make a meaningful difference behind the scenes – helping to shape how we support pupils, families and staff every day.
