Job Introduction
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and caring After School Club Assistant to help supervise and engage children in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment. The role involves supporting the delivery of activities, ensuring the well-being of the children, and assisting with day-to-day operations of the club.
The role is for 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist in setting up and packing away activities, snacks, and equipment
- Help deliver a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities (e.g., arts and crafts, sports and games)
- Promote positive behaviour and help resolve conflicts in a supportive and respectful manner
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Ensure all club activities are in line with safeguarding and health and safety policies.
- Support the Club Leader with administrative tasks as required
- Following procedures to dismiss children to their carer at the end of the session
- Complete relevant paperwork in line with the role and responsibilities
- Food preparation
- First Aid
The successful candidate will:
- Be someone who cares for the children and enjoys seeing them have fun
- Be creative and can come up with ideas for activities for the children to engage in
- Have good behaviour management skill
- Have a caring, patient approach towards children
- Have a positive approach that supports the schools’ visions and values
- Have strong interpersonal skills with children and adults
- Be a team player with a professional attitude
- Is able to use their own initiative
- Has appropriate experience of and enjoys working with the 4-7 age group
Essential:
- Experience working with children (e.g., in a school, nursery, youth club, or similar setting)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
Desirable:
- First Aid and Food Hygiene certifications (or willingness to obtain them)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided)
