Salary Details: £8,991 to £9,892 pro-rata salary dependent on experience and qualifications (pay award pending)

Hours of Work:   14 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 3pm – 6pm and Fridays 3pm to 5pm, term time only (39 weeks)

Job/Person Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and organised person to take on the position of Twilight Duty Manager. Our after-school care club provides a safe, fun and child friendly environment for children to decompress after a day in school. In this key role, you’ll coordinate and deliver engaging activities, ensure a safe and nurturing environment, and co-ordinate a team of playworkers to support the needs of our children and families.

The Twilight Duty Manager will:

  • Lead the daily running of the after-school club
  • Plan and deliver a variety of creative, play-based and active activities
  • Ensure the club has the resources it needs to deliver the planned activities
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive and happy environment for all children
  • Supervise children and support any additional staff
  • Maintain registers, records and communication with parents
  • Act as communication link between parents, the club and the school
  • Ensure the provision runs in line with school safeguarding and health & safety procedures
  • Be a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is qualified to Level 3 in Play work, Youth Work or equivalent
  • Has experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
  • Is organised, reliable and confident leading activities
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is enthusiastic about supporting children’s wellbeing and development
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare

Relevant training such as First Aid and Food Hygiene is desirable, although training can be provided in these areas for the right candidate.

The contracted hours for the Twilight Duty Manager role are 14 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 3pm – 6pm and Fridays 3pm to 5pm.  This is a term time only position (39 weeks).
