Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and T&L

Job Introduction


Norwood Primary and Pre-School is a nurturing and inclusive school which prides itself on its ‘family feel’. We are on an exciting journey of improvement, committed to providing an excellent education that allows every child to flourish.

 

The school is undergoing a period of change and re-development, with a new Headteacher and a new leadership structure. We are looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and Teaching and Learning to join the Headteacher and an existing Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion as part of the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving forward the school’s vision, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across a knowledge-rich curriculum.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all our children.
  • Teaching and Learning: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in teaching practices, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the school, through effective coaching and mentoring strategies.
  • Staff Development: Provide professional development opportunities and support for teachers to enhance their instructional skills and pedagogical knowledge.
  • Leadership: Support the Headteacher and other senior leaders to drive the school's vision and strategic goals.
