                                                 ‘Learning together with love at the centre’

We are excited to be able to appoint a part-time non-class based Assistant Headteacher for 3 days a week to join our friendly and supportive team from January 2026. The successful candidate would be responsible for continuing to develop our school curriculum and for supporting teaching and learning across the school. St Michael’s C of E Infant School is a three form entry Infant School in Aldershot. We are a Christian school where our values of love, forgiveness, friendship, truthfulness, perseverance and creativity guide everything that we do. We are proud of our nurturing ethos and our absolute dedication to providing the best support for each individual child within our diverse and vibrant school community. Our children are wonderful, well-mannered and caring individuals who are always enthusiastic about their learning. Our committed staff team work closely together to plan a creative, story-centred curriculum with a strong focus on development of oracy skills.

  • Has experience of middle or senior leadership in school
  • Believes in a relational approach to education 
  • Understands the pedagogy of teaching and learning in EYFS/ KS1 and has an excellent understanding of child development
  • Is able to motivate others and can work effectively as part of a team
  • Builds positive relationships with others and has strong communication skills
  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
  • Is committed to personal and professional development and is research driven

St. Michael’s Infant school was judged by OFSTED to be good in all areas (March 2025). The report states: ‘The school is a warm and welcoming community. Pupils feel safe and happy because of the positive relationships they enjoy with adults and each other. If they have any worries, they know staff will help them.’
