BASC Leader

Job Introduction

Guillemont Junior School is a vibrant, supportive and inclusive mainstream school set in beautiful grounds. We have two Resourced Provisions: one for Speech Language and Communication Needs and one for Autism. We are part of a federation with Pinewood Infant School, providing additional opportunities. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed leader for our Before and After School Club with good communication skills to join our dedicated and hardworking team. This role could be a job share; one individual to run the Breakfast Club and one individual for the After School Club.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • To provide a range of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities, appropriate for to meet the needs of all of the children;
  • To provide an environment for children to access and complete their home learning, particularly reading;
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of children at all times;
  • Promote positive behaviour;
  • To act as a First Aider;
  • Motivate and encourage the children to participate in a wide range of engaging activities;
  • Liaise with the staff, particularly the teachers;
  • Ensure a clean, organised environment conducive to fostering good health and safety practice;
  • Manager to lead on staffing, ratios, and provide overall guidance and planning of activities. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has passion, enthusiasm, patience and a positive outlook;
  • Ability to liaise/communicate effectively with our families;
  • Has the ability to lead a small team of BASC employees
  • Can be professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality.
  • Has the ability to think on their feet and be highly effective at using their initiative.
  • Consistently adheres to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection polices and procedures.
