Breakfast & After School Club Supervisor

Job Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and confident After School Club Leader who is passionate in working with children, to join our successful wraparound provision (breakfast and after school clubs).  You must possess strong interpersonal skills, organisational abilities and are keen to take on a new challenge.

Our priority is to further strengthen our existing wraparound provision by appointing a leader to support delivering a safe, fun, inclusive and nurturing experience for our children. We are inviting applications from those with experience in working with children and who have either lead teams or who would like to step into this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to become part of the wonderful staff team at Kings Worthy Primary School.  Some of the hours are flexible and can be worked to suit the needs of the business for the right candidate.  Expectations are that you will work both before and after school but not every day due to lower attendance numbers on one/two days. Main duties will include;

  • Supervise, motivate and co-ordinate a team of 4-8 staff to achieve an effective, efficient and consistent service ensuring regular review so that they carry out their duties in accordance with their role profiles. 
  • Supervise the day to day running of the before and after school provision ensuring that the service meets the care, play and educational needs of the children effectively and efficiently, as well as satisfying government guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/named carers and other childcare agencies/groups, responding to routine queries when raised
  • Supervise staff relating to the Childrens’ Act; OFSTED standards; Safeguarding, Child Protection, Equalities and Health and Safety issues.

Qualifications;

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above

  • NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or Play work Level 3 (desirable not essential)

  • A valid First Aid/Paediatric First Aid certificate together with a food hygiene qualification or willingness to complete training
