Job/Person Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, self-motivated caretaker to join our staff team. This would suit someone who has a range of practical skills and is able to carry out DIY jobs as well as cleaning to manage and maintain the physical resources of our site, including buildings, grounds, materials and equipment.
The Caretaker will contribute to the day-to-day running of our school, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and operational effectiveness, and compliance with health and safety requirements. This role ensures that our facilities are clean and safe enabling our children to flourish.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining a high standard of the school’s buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
- Take responsibility for security and be a key holder
- Perform regular upkeep and landscaping of the school grounds
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance tasks if needed
- Participate in planned project work, including renovations and improvements
- Oversee contractors and ensure they adhere to health and safety procedures
- Work with the Headteacher to ensure all aspects of health and safety for the school and the site are compliant
- Opening and locking of the school site Monday – Friday
- Ensure that a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is maintained
- Being available to stay later on days where we run evening meetings to check the site and lock up.

- Show initiative, be proactive, have good organisational and time management skills
