Caretaker

Job Introduction

The role of Caretaker is key to the smooth running of our school and we are looking for someone with a strong sense of pride in their work. Someone who believes doing a job to the best of your ability truly matters.

This is an important post. Staff and children would like you to be cheerful, positive, caring and self-motivated. You will spot when paths need to be swept and when something needs to be repaired, redecorated or renovated. You will have good practical skills and a strong awareness of safe working practices.  

The successful applicant will need :

  • To be a team player and a member of our community
  • To ensure high standards of operational effectiveness
  • To be practical and have appropriate maintenance skills
  • To have IT skills and to be confident using email
  • To show initiative, be proactive, have good organisational and time management skills.
  • To help manage the site, grounds and buildings to the highest standard possible
  • To take responsibility for security, evening locking up and be a key holder
  • To undertake a range of repairs and maintenance including some gardening
  • To work in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the school
  • To maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • A good sense of humour

 This post is for 52 weeks of the year with annual leave ideally taken during school holiday periods.
