Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint one or two learning support assistants in order to build capacity within our large and friendly KS2 team from Sept 2026. The role will involve working as a key adult to support children with Education Health Care Plans. Applications are particularly welcome from those with prior experience of supporting children with SEND in a school environment, but we may also consider candidates with other relevant experience and/or skills who are willing to learn.
Ideally, we are seeking one person to work up to 5 mornings including a lunch duty (8.45 – 12.30/1pm) and another to work up to 5 afternoons with a lunch duty (12/12.30 – 3.15pm), but we do have some flexibility regarding days, and the positions could be combined (up to 30hrs). The successful candidates will
- Have experience of supporting children, ideally within an education setting;
- Have an understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEND, and strategies which can support them in school;
- Be cheerful, flexible and approachable;
- Have energy and enthusiasm, and be able to show initiative within the role;
- Be a team player, able to work closely with teachers and other adults within the classroom to ensure the best for our pupils;
- Be patient and have good communication skills.
