Job Introduction

Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday 25 hours per week ideally to include morning and afternoon split shifts, 44 weeks per year (hours negotiable)

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic person to join our Fairfield Team.  We are committed to ensuing all our children are safe, secure and well-supported. Through their caretaking role, we are looking for someone who takes a real pride in our school, prioritises Health, Safety and Security and leads and supports the cleaning team to consistently maintain the highest of standards.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working in a school environment with children and adults
  • Has a positive approach and can work efficiently and effectively
  • Leads by example regarding Health, Safety and Security
  • Can work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Is practical, has good problem-solving skills and the capacity to work on own initiative when required
  • Has excellent communication skills and is flexible and adaptable
  • Has knowledge, skills and previous experience in general maintenance

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Open, close and make secure the building and site on a daily basis
  • Ensure all Health and Safety and compliance requirements are met (inside and outside)
  • Supervise a team of cleaning staff and undertake some daily cleaning duties
  • Take responsibility for the ordering and safe storage of all cleaning materials and equipment
  • Carry out general porterage duties and some working at height
  • Draw up and manage a general maintenance and cleaning programme to include deep cleaning, painting, decoration and maintenance of the building during school holiday periods
  • Ensure the school grounds are well-maintained
  • Attend training contributing specifically to your role and school development
