Are you a dedicated, hands-on professional with a passion for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children? Our vibrant primary school is seeking a committed Caretaker to oversee and maintain the school premises.
Harestock Primary School is a one form entry primary school located in the heart of Winchester. With a diverse population, we strongly believe in the development of the whole child, supporting well-being through a focus on building confidence, resilience, self-belief, and self-compassion.
Our amazing outdoor space includes a pond, forest, large field, and three playgrounds, providing endless opportunities for our students to explore and learn.
Job Advert: Caretaker
Duties include:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct regular inspections and carry out repairs to ensure the school facilities are in top condition.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, performing risk assessments, and maintaining safety records.
- Grounds keeping: Oversee the upkeep of school grounds, including gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields.
- Security: Manage the security of the school site, act as a keyholder for the school including locking and unlocking buildings, and monitoring security systems, activate and deactivate intruder alarm system as directed by line manager . Act as principal keyholder in emergencies.
- Coordination: Liaise with contractors, manage cleaning staff, and coordinate with school administration for events set up
- Emergency Response: Act as the first responder to any on-site emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
