- Provides effective and innovative learning opportunities to engage all children in their care
- Deploys a range of positive behaviour management strategies seeking to build mutually respectful relationships within their class

- Would be supportive of our Christian ethos
Our School
As a school, we are extremely proud of our successes in setting high expectations and developing the whole child through our strong Christian ethos. Our dedicated staff work together as a strong team enabling both children and staff to flourish.
At Horndean Church of England Junior School we strive to provide each and every one of the five hundred children in our care with a first-class education. We are an inclusive school and we prioritise adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of all our learners.
We are extremely proud of our successes and the effectiveness of our school improvement work has been recognised by the Local Authority. In April 2022 we secured a very positive outcome from our short Ofsted inspection, not least the judgement that our Christian Values of TLC ‘help to make the school a very special place.’ This echoed the outcome of our church school inspection in November 2019 that our Christian vision ‘successfully drives the school’s development and has an exceptional impact on the lives of pupils and adults.’
