Class Teacher

Job Introduction

Bring Your Joy and Passion to Our Classroom — Class Teacher Vacancy

Position: Class Teacher (KS2 Preferred, KS1 Considered)

Location: Rownhams St John's CE Primary School
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: MPR (ECTs welcome to apply)

We are seeking an exceptional class teacher to join our warm, ambitious, and values-driven school from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, optimistic educator—preferably for Key Stage 2, though Key Stage 1 specialists are very welcome.

At the heart of our school is a bold vision: for every child to experience an exceptional education and grow into people who make a positive difference to themselves, their community, and the world around them. We nurture not only academic success, but also character, curiosity, and purpose. Our Christian values—Love, Joy, Responsibility—shape everything we do.

This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher ready to begin their journey with purpose and positivity. We are committed to a culture of excellence—where every child is encouraged to do their best, grow through challenge, and aim high every day. We’re looking for someone who brings joy into the classroom, who sees challenges as opportunities, and who shows unshakeable belief in the potential of every child. No problem is too big—you’re the sort of person who gets stuck in, finds a solution, and brings others with you.

We believe great teachers are always learning. That’s why we offer every teacher access to high-quality professional development, including regular instructional coaching, no matter their career stage. We expect all teachers to embrace this culture of continuous improvement and reflection. If you’re ready to grow, you’ll thrive here.

You will be:

  • Passionate about education and committed to every child’s success
  • Committed to helping children grow—academically, emotionally and in character—so they can make a difference in their lives and the lives of others
  • Ready to develop and refine your practice throughout your career
  • Joyful, optimistic and resilient—bringing energy and calm to daily life
  • Organised and proactive, with high expectations for yourself and your pupils
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative and caring environment

In return, we offer:

  • A school culture where learning and improvement are part of everyone’s day
  • Regular instructional coaching to develop your teaching practice through your ECT years and beyond
  • A supportive team committed to excellence and inclusion
  • Engaged, kind and enthusiastic pupils
  • A community grounded in shared values and a deep sense of purpose

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.

Come and grow with us. Bring your joy, your curiosity and your courage—so together we can help every child flourish in knowledge, kindness, and purpose.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit please contact Lynne Tongs, Senior Admin Officer.

Closing date: 20th June 2025

Interviews: 25th June 2025

Please note: we reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date for the right candidate.
