Classroom Teacher

Job Introduction

At Harefield Primary School, we are aspirational, safe and kind.

We will instil a sense of aspiration in every child, helping them to feel confident in themselves and their abilities. Our school is a place where respect for each other, oneself, and the school is second nature, and kindness is a natural part of our behaviour. Every child will feel safe coming to school and know that the adults will be the duty-bearers of their rights. All members of our community are valued and heard, and their successes are celebrated.

We will ensure a culture that makes our school a place where students are excited to learn and be present. We work with our families to provide numerous opportunities and activities, to enrich learning and bring a sense of fun to the curriculum. We prepare our students to pursue opportunities in the wider world with self-belief, motivation, and a can-do attitude. Through this effective, innovative teaching, we will ensure that our learners make strong academic progress and develop a life-long love of learning. Ultimately, we want every child to have belief in themselves, to feel worthy, and to enjoy being at school every day.

Harefield primary is a vibrant two form entry school on the east side of Southampton, that has achieved a silver award for being a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, an award we are extremely proud of. This reflects our ethos, where children are at the heart of all that we do.

Harefield Primary School is Part of the HAMWIC Education Trust, which is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

If you are ready for a new challenge and enjoy working with an organisation where no day will be the same, then please apply.

‘All about the Child’

At HET, we aim to put the child at the centre of everything we do. We believe that by doing this, it drives our ethos and values to do the best we can for our children.

‘What about Sam’

Sam is the name we have given to the notional HAMWIC child. By asking ourselves ‘What about Sam?’ we ensure that we put our pupils at the heart of our decision making.
