Job/Person Summary
We seek to appoint a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic School Cleaner to join the Cleaning Team at Castle Hill Primary School. You will ensure that designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard while adhering to health and safety procedures.

We are looking for a reliable cleaner who understands the needs of a busy school and takes pride in their work, ensuring that all areas of the school are kept clean, hygienic, and safe to create a suitable environment for staff and pupils. We would like this staff member to have good cleaning experience (but not compulsory), an excellent attitude to being part of the school, and to be keen to ensure high standards in the cleanliness of the school environment. 

This post will be for 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only. There will also be an opportunity to carry out up to six deep cleans during the school holidays, for which additional payment will be made. Please note that annual leave must be taken during the school holidays (not during term time).

Role profile 02134 Grade A - Annual FTE Salary £23,473 - £23,657 per annum pro-rata. Actual salary £8,119 - £8,180

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Wiping down surfaces
  • Vacuuming carpeted areas
  • Dusting surfaces
  • Sweeping hard surfaces
  • Emptying bins
  • Cleaning toilets, wash basins and sinks, including any wet areas
  • Mopping floor areas
  • Cleaning non-slip floors

Personal Specification:

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a successful team and show initiative
  • Take pride in their work to maintain a safe learning and work environment
  • Have a caring, cheerful and conscientious disposition
  • Be able to have a flexible approach to work as a split-site primary. You may be required to work at both school sites and in different work areas.

An awareness of the health and safety policy and practice as it applies to the Role, including COSHH regulations, would be beneficial. Please note that all annual leave must be taken during school holiday periods.
