Cover Supervisor Gosport
The Key Education Centres provide alternative provisions for pupils aged 11—16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. In September 2019, The Key Education Centre in Gosport adopted a second site in Havant (formally Woodlands Education Centre). Our provisions pride themselves on being abreast of current pedagogy and our work around attachment-focused and trauma informed practice is a fundamental part of our work in engaging pupils in learning experiences beyond those of the traditional curriculum alongside providing them with the skills needed to succeed in life beyond The Key and in modern Britain.
We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to oversee whole classes during the absence of the class teacher, supervising the lesson and delivering work set by the classroom teacher, providing effective classroom management skills. The post holder will be based at our Gosport site as part of our teaching and learning team. When lesson cover is not required, the successful applicant will be required to engage in a range of tasks supporting the teachers in lessons, and supporting students.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent colleague who has a genuine interest in supporting our pupils and improving their life chances. This post is for a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extending the contract at the end of the fixed term period.
