Job Introduction

We are looking for passionate and skilled Senior Finance Advisers to join our dynamic Education Financial Services (EFS) team at Hampshire County Council. 


With opportunities based in Havant and Winchester, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a forward thinking local authority. 


What you’ll do:

In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on education by supporting schools to manage their finances and help to deliver better outcomes for children and young people across Hampshire. You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation, professional growth and continuous improvement.


What we’re looking for:

  • A fully qualified chartered accountant / qualified AAT member (or relevant equivalent) with substantial relevant experience
  • Good accounting knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Build effective working relationships and provide clear financial advice and guidance
  • Experience of extracting, analysing, and interpreting financial information to support decision making
  • The ability to work confidently to tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of professionalism
  • A good understanding of education finance and the role of schools 
  • A flexible, enthusiastic approach and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role

You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis. You will also be required to attend occasional governor training that is in the evening.
