Job Introduction
The governors of the Federation of Burley and Sopley Primary Schools are seeking to appoint an inspiring and motivated leader as the new headteacher for our federation of two small rural primary schools.
Both schools are located in beautiful scenic areas within the New Forest National Park. This is an extraordinary environment and our curriculum and passion for outdoor learning take advantage of these unique natural surroundings.
The Federation Headteacher will be responsible for the two schools, which are of similar size but with their own identities, strengths and challenges bound together in a close-knit federation and will have the opportunity to appoint a deputy headteacher.
He/she will build on the success of very recent Ofsted judgements of “Good” at both schools with Burley judged as “Outstanding” in EYFS and will be supported by a dedicated team of teaching and support staff and a knowledgeable and supportive governing body.
He/she will have a proven track record of success as a senior leader in primary school as a deputy headteacher, head of school, assistant headteacher or headteacher and will be someone who is passionate about teaching and learning, with experience of delivering outstanding teaching in the primary phase.
Our new Federation Headteacher to be able to:
- Inspire and empower staff and pupils to enthusiastically support the Federation’s strategy and vision.
- Be a figurehead for the schools with very good communication skills and be empathetic and approachable to all stakeholders (including parents and the local community).
