Family Inclusion Support Officer

Job Introduction

Redbridge Community School are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to work with targeted families as identified by senior leaders within the school. The post holder will strengthen links between the school, parents and families in order to reduce the impact of disadvantage on educational attainment. They must have the ability to lead on attendance procedures within the school and promote good attendance with families. 

 

Ideally, the successful candidate will be accustomed to dealing with parents / carers, families, schools and outside agencies.

 

The Family Inclusion Support Officer will;

  • Work closely with the school to address the needs of students who require assistance in overcoming barriers in attending school. To be able to support them with a variety of issues including attendance, punctuality, challenging behaviour and low self-esteem. 
  • Work with families to encourage excellent home / school links
  • Work alongside Heads of Year and the Senior Leadership Team in attending child protection meetings
  • Target families requiring support and engage them in the learning process. 
  • Strengthen the school’s links with parents / carers and the community
  • Organise parental events in school. 
  • The post holder will be responsible for utilising multi-agency support to signpost families to help and opportunities relevant to their needs and will offer a friendly, approachable and non-judgemental service. 
  • They will lead on monitoring attendance, identifying strategies to promote good attendance as well as challenging where attendance is below the acceptable level, working closely with outside agencies and the EWO service as appropriate.
