Job Introduction
Be part of something that makes a lasting difference.
At Forest Park Special School, we believe that supporting a child means supporting the people around them too.
As our school continues to grow and develop, we are creating a new Family Support Worker role to strengthen the partnership between home, school and the wider community. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a role that will have a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people with SEND and their families.
We are looking for an experienced, organised and compassionate professional who understands the importance of building trusting relationships with families and coordinating effective support around children and young people. This role is ideal for someone who can quickly establish credibility with families, work confidently with professionals from different agencies, and ensure that actions and interventions translate into meaningful outcomes.
About the Role
You will act as a key link between families, school staff and external agencies, helping parents and carers access the support they need while ensuring family-focused interventions are coordinated, monitored and reviewed effectively. The role combines relationship-building, case coordination, practical support and record management, with the ultimate aim of improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children, young people and families.
- Can build trusting and positive relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Is confident working with a range of professionals and agencies.
- Has strong organisational skills and can manage multiple actions and priorities effectively.
- Understands safeguarding, confidentiality and family-centred practice.
- Has experience supporting vulnerable families and helping them access appropriate services.
- Believes passionately in improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
- Is proactive, resilient and able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
Why Join Forest Park?
This is more than a job. It is an opportunity to become part of a school community that is ambitious for its children, young people and families.
