Family Support Worker – Job Description and Person Specification

Post: Family Support (35 hours per week)

Salary grade: D £25,147-28,407

Line management by: SENCo

 

Purpose

• To support the social and emotional development, and the mental and physical health, of pupils at school through providing support to them and their families

• Help identify and address the needs of children and families who would benefit from additional support to overcome barriers to learning or engagement with school, and implement, refine and monitor these strategies and support programmes

• To act as an in-school point of contact for advice, support and sign-posting for families

• Support strategies to reduce absence for pupils where attendance is a concern

• Liaise with relevant agencies to support parents in accessing and engaging with statutory and voluntary services, including through attending TAF and core group meeting

• Complete Early Help Assessments and, in consultation with other services, identify and plan support for families through this framework
