Job/Person Summary
We are looking for an additional LSA and MDSA to join our school team. Within our teams, teaching staff and support staff work closely together to plan, and assess the curriculum that meets both the interests and learning needs of all of our pupils and work hard to create an exciting stimulating environment in which learning can thrive.
Successful applicants must:
- Be positive, proactive and patient and have a caring approach towards children
- Have experience and knowledge of supporting pupils with SEND
- Have good skills in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or above)
- Have good communication skills and high expectations
- Be able to support the learning of pupils of all abilities in and outside of the classroom
- Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Have well developed communication skills and an ability to engage positively with parents and carers and the wider community.
- Enjoy the challenges of working with young children with SEND and facilitating their learning
- Supervise the children in the hall and promote good manners & supporting healthy eating
- Supervise the children during play activities on the playground or in the classroom during wet play
- Devise and initiate constructive play opportunities for children when required
- Assist with cleaning spills/wiping tables
- Administer minor first aid
- Ensure the safety, welfare and positive behaviour of pupils
- Maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality
- Have an understanding of the school’s policy on Child Protection/Safeguarding
- Liaise effectively and professionally with staff and teachers
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as working as part of a team. There will be an interview and a short task with children to ascertain suitability for the role.
