The Cowplain School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of Food Technology; an interest in teaching GCSE textiles would also be an advantage. Our Food and Cookery course is very popular with 50+ students selecting it from Year 9. You would also teach Technology to KS3 students, which focuses on a range of projects which reflect the specialisms of Engineering, Textiles, Graphics and Food.
We are extremely ambitious for our students and have a strong vision to ensure that the life-chances of every young person are enhanced by quality teaching, leading to excellent outcomes. Having secured a ‘Good’ OFSTED in July 2024 we are now looking for staff who can deliver excellence in technology. Therefore, it is vital that you have the skills to form effective relationships with students, parents and colleagues and have the passion and drive to ensure our students receive the best possible learning opportunities.
As a teacher at Cowplain we would invest in you to ensure that you develop the skills and expertise needed to ensure those that you teach acquire skills vital to their future. We have two fully equipped rooms for the teaching of Food Technology, as well as a recently enhanced and improved textiles classroom. We have a fully equipped workshop for small engineering projects, as well as a main teaching room with sufficient IT provision for a class to work on CAD software, equipped with projector and screen. Every teacher receives a laptop. We offer all members of staff a full induction programme and significant opportunities to develop their expertise. Colleagues at the school work together to support each other and we have an active wellbeing committee.
