Do you have a passion for cooking and would like to share it with our pupils? Are you an organised and methodical person? We are looking for an enthusiastic Food Technology Technician to support our Food Technology Teacher.
Oak Lodge School is based on the edge of the New Forest catering for 11-16 year olds with a range of Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, enjoyable and caring learning environment for pupils to develop skills for life and prepare them well for adulthood.
We think having the ability to produce tasty, nutritious meals at home, is a vital skill for life. Food Technology teaches students how to prepare and cook food safely. Pupils learn about healthy eating, basic cooking skills, and how to make simple meals. The lessons focus on practical skills, health, and creativity, helping students gain confidence in the kitchen. Food Technology encourages students to enjoy cooking, make healthy choices, and develop skills that can be used in everyday life.
Your role would be to support the Teacher, preparing, organising and clearing lesson resources and supporting pupils in practical work in the classroom. We have a well-equipped Food Technology room and small classes of between 7 and 13, well-mannered pupils.
Ideally you will have an interest in food and you must have GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Experience of working with SEN pupils would be an advantage but not essential.
We are enormously proud of our school and the supportive and welcoming environment we provide for both staff and pupils. We would be delighted to show you the school, please give us a call to arrange a visit.
