Salary Scale: MPS/UPS; Part Time or Full Time
Required: September 2026
We are looking to appoint a Humanities teacher for September 2026. This post which could be full time or part time from 0.4, is a great opportunity to join an extremely high performing team. The Geography and History departments secure the strongest attainment and progress in the college – in the top 15% of schools nationally but is equally proud of the positive experience that students have in their classrooms. This post has arisen because a part-time Geography teacher (0.5) has relocated. However, due to the growing numbers of students studying the subjects of History and RE, this could be a full-time post for a candidate who is able to teach in one or both of these additional subjects at KS3.
The successful candidate will be able to teach Geography at KS3 and KS4 and be able to enthuse students. They will be student-centred, passionate, reflective and hard working. They will be collaborative in approach, keen to work with colleagues to share the best practice and resources.

Wyvern is a 11-16 mixed comprehensive school, serving the communities of Fair Oak, Horton Heath, Bishopstoke, Durley and Upham and the surrounding area. Increasingly, families from outside the catchment area are seeking Wyvern places for their children. Consequently, it is oversubscribed.
