Job Introduction

The Crescent Primary School is a large, over-subscribed, three-form entry school located in Eastleigh. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, confident, flexible, and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated school team. 

The successful candidate will be expected to work across the school as needs arise. Our HLTAs support pupil progress across a range of subjects, working with individuals, small groups, and teaching whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.


We are looking for someone who:

  • is warm, friendly, and truly puts children first
  • has professional experience working with children
  • has the confidence to cover whole classes when required
  • has strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • has knowledge and experience of supporting children’s learning
  • demonstrates initiative, creativity, and the ability to adapt learning to meet pupils’ needs
  • has high expectations of themselves and others
  • has excellent time management skills and is highly organised
  • understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
  • has a minimum of 5 GCSEs (A*–C), including English and Maths
  • is an experienced LSA who currently holds, or is willing to work towards, HLTA  status
