Job Introduction

We have a fantastic and exciting opportunity to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who will work in partnership with teachers to deliver planned learning activities to whole classes throughout our school. This will provide cover; class support, small group work, PPA cover, leadership release time as well as for training needs.

This role is a great stepping stone for those who have the ambition to become a qualified teacher, as well as ECT’s who have not yet secured a post.

We are looking for someone who is...

 

  • A motivated, nurturing individual with a great sense of humour
  • Can work collaboratively with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of children.
  • Will complement teachers’ delivery of our curriculum.
  • Will promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
  • Is able to cover whole classes and teach during PPA, leadership time, teach small groups or cover short-term absence of teachers. 
  • Is ambitious for all children to achieve and love their learning
  • Uses initiative to assess children’s learning needs and then provides effective feedback to inform provision
  • Give support to children, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience success 
  • Has GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Has HLTA status or other appropriate qualification however this is not essential for the right candidate

 Working Hours

31.25 each week, 8.30 until 3.30 with 45 minutes for lunch, term time only
