We think it should be! Staff and students enjoy their days in excellent modern buildings with superb facilities. We are located on the West of Portsmouth and access is easy from the M27 or A27.
Many staff commute easily from Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and West Sussex either by car or by public transport.
As The Head of Geography, you will lead a team of dedicated Geography specialists who are committed to securing the best outcome for students.
The curriculum is currently well designed, sequenced and is delivered through booklets with all resources already in place.
You will be supported to lead Geography to excellence by a subject specialist line manager and through our Strategic Leadership Group which you will be part of and which is designed to ensure that all leaders (senior, pastoral and subject) work collaboratively so that they are all empowered to lead their curriculum and their staff.
For this role, you must be a Geography specialist with a love of your subject and an ability to share that passion. This may be your first leadership post, or you may be experienced, either way, we will support you to ensure that geography is a very high performing subject when compared nationally.
You will be somebody who can enthuse students and staff and is always ‘banging the drum’ for geography and its importance in the curriculum.
You will be a superb teacher with high expectations of what children can and, under your leadership, will achieve.
You will be a good communicator, have a strong moral purpose and you’ll need to be fully committed to our cause - outstanding learning through a strong knowledge-based curriculum supported by clear pedagogy, consistent routines and ultimately our students’ high aspirations.
