Job Introduction

Roman Way Primary School is a successful school in the heart of Andover, Hampshire. After many dedicated years, our current Headteacher is retiring and we are seeking the next inspiring leader for our Roman Way family. 
 
Our children are at the heart of everything we do, reflected in our motto: Explore, Learn and Achieve Together. We are a welcoming, child-centred community where staff, pupils, Governors and families work in strong partnership to provide a safe, vibrant and engaging place to learn. 
 
Our vision is driven by a shared moral purpose: to create a culture that provides the best education and life chances for all, with the highest aspirations and no limitations on achievement. We foster a reflective learning culture with permission to take risks and learn from mistakes, and we offer an evolving, wide and rich curriculum that meets the needs of every learner. 
 
We are looking for a Headteacher who: 
 
Has the vision, passion and determination to build on the firm foundations already in place at Roman Way. 
Champions equity, acceptance and high aspirations for all children, with no barriers to achievement. 
Leads a reflective culture where staff and pupils are supported to take risks, learn and improve. 
Values strong partnerships with pupils, families, Governors and the wider community.

You should provide a full statement in support of your application, which should not 
exceed two sides of A4 paper.

Selection Procedure 
 
The shortlist will be drawn up on 18th June 2026 and the interview process will take place on the 2nd and 3rd July 2026 . Further details will be sent to those candidates called for interview.  

Applicants will be advised after the shortlisting date whether they have been successful.
